The two harmonic reducer series can fully cover different application conditions
Schaeffler has expanded its range of precision harmonic reducers to accommodate a wider range of applications in its robotics portfolio and now offers two family products for lightweight robots: RT1 for high-torque applications and RT2 for standard torque applications. The RT2 harmonic reducer covers approximately 80% of standard collaborative robot applications. Available in five sizes, from 14 to 32, with five reduction ratios from 50 to 160, the series has a hollow shaft design that can be attached directly to the motor shaft as a closed unit with seals, and can be used as a component.
The RT1 harmonic reducer is currently available in four sizes, from 14 to 32, with drive ratios of 100 and 160 and torque of 25 to about 900 nm. Due to the high torque density, the RT1 harmonic reducer is ideal for particularly compact robotic arms and high average load conditions. They are lightweight and compact, making them ideal for collaborative robots. The gear system of the harmonic reducer has no backlash and wear resistance, ensuring excellent position accuracy throughout its working life. In both series, the high tilt stiffness of Schaeffler's XZU double-row angular contact needle roller bearings allows for a significant increase in the structural stiffness of the cobots.
